Excel High School

The Gale Presents: Excel Adult High School program offers a unique environment for non-traditional learners to return to school, including a fully online experience, 24/7 tutoring, and a success coach. This program allows adults to restart their education in a supportive environment and move past challenges they may have encountered in the traditional school setting. Students who complete the Excel Adult High School program receive an accredited high school diploma that is accepted by colleges, employers, and the military.  

The Library of North Carolina began offering scholarships to adult learners in North Carolina for Excel Adult High School in August 2023. The library’s Excel Adult High School Scholarship Program was originally supported by grant funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) under the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA), administered by the Library of North Carolina (IMLS grant number LS-252476-OLS-22).

Following the end of the LSTA grant, the scholarship program was sustained by other funding sources until the summer of 2026, at which time the Library of NC’s Excel Adult High Scholarship Program was discontinued due to a lack of funding.
