DESCRIPTION

- Assist with collections intake by establishing initial physical and intellectual control of incoming manuscript materials through arranging and rehousing this material, creating records in ArchivesSpace
- Assist with processing of archival and manuscript collections and assists with analyzing their organization, arrangement and preservation needs.
- Prepare descriptive tools for collections including finding aids and catalog records
- Assist with the processing of print materials as needed
- Assist librarians with special projects
- Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

- Current enrollment in a master’s program in Public History or an MLIS program accredited by the American Library Association, or equivalent.
- Interest in women’s history and preservation of culture heritage through archives
- Strong analytical, organizational, and writing skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skill
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team with accuracy and an orientation to detail
- Preferred: prior experience in a special collections setting and/or completion of at least one course in archival theory and practice
-Preferred: academic or activist background in women’s studies or women’s history

SALARY
