DESCRIPTION

The Archive Services Librarian is responsible for developing, managing, and administering the Rowan-Cabarrus Community College Archives. The Archive Services Librarian also focuses on creating, maintaining, and enriching metadata representing the library’s physical and digital archive collections.

This position spends approximately 50% of its time on archival duties and 50% on reference and instruction duties. All Rowan-Cabarrus Librarians have public service responsibilities regardless of their position within Library Services, including circulation, reference, instruction, and liaison responsibilities. Working collaboratively and independently in a team environment is essential in this role. Librarians also participate in college and professional activities, as appropriate.

This position is located at our Salisbury, NC, location. Regular physical presence at the assigned work location is an essential function of this position; remote work is not available

QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s Degree in Library Science accredited by the American Library Association (ALA)
(1) year of professional experience working in an archive
(1) year of experience as a professional librarian.
Demonstrated knowledge of archival standards, preservation principles and practices, and records management principles and practices.

Preferred Education/Experience/Skills:
Demonstrated experience with Archive Space and Omeka Digital Platforms.
Demonstrated experience with Archival Scanning.

SALARY

$60,171.04
