DESCRIPTION
The Assistant Director of Media & Instructional Resources reports to the Director of METRC to ensure that students and faculty are provided with state-of-the-art resources and support to further their academic and instructional goals. The position provides leadership as a licensed librarian, guiding collection development, advising on library policy, and advocating for the role of librarians within educational communities. The Assistant Director works with university colleagues to provide a wide range of services, library and technical support, and professional learning for faculty and students. The position must expertly evaluate, plan, and implement METRC's programs. In addition the position curates the digital and print collections, coordinating with other staff to ensure that high quality print and digital resources are secured, maintained, and available. Lead Librarian also works with faculty to integrate technology and METRC resources throughout their courses via consulting, co-teaching, online support, workshops, and guest speaker interactions.
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree, along with either a library media coordinator license or a minimum of two years of school library experience, and at least two years of experience in a relevant K–12 instructional role. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, sound judgment, and a high level of organization, accuracy, and attention to detail, with a strong commitment to service and follow-through.
