DESCRIPTION

The North Carolina Supreme Court Library seeks a qualified Assistant Librarian to manage the technical services duties for the library which include creating bibliographic records, maintaining financial and statistical records, and supporting all library functions.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Create bibliographic records for all materials
Use LC authority records to achieve consistency of bibliographic records.
Track monthly and yearly statistics of materials received and items cataloged, records monthly and yearly expenditures.
Receive and open all mail designated for the library.
Process mail and shelve materials in the library.
Check-in items into library’s tracking database and into SIRSI and keep statistics.
Process all incoming shipments that are received from the U.S. Government Printing Office.
Update and place new titles in respective locations throughout the Justice Building and Court of Appeals Building.
Under Librarian’s direction, assist with special projects.
May supervise one Library Technical Assistant.

QUALIFICATIONS

Master's degree in library and information science (MLIS) or master’s degree in library science (MLS) from an ALA (American Library Association) accredited college or university plus two (2) years of library experience in technical services

or

a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an American Bar Association (ABA) accredited school plus one (1) year of work experience in law librarianship, law, or as a judge’s clerk

SALARY

$62,771.00 - $101,849.00
