Description: An employee in this class is responsible for planning, implementing, and assessing adult programming, outreach initiatives, collection development, reader's advisory services, and community engagement activities. The employee develops and maintains the adult collection, assists patrons with information and technology needs, and works collaboratively with community organizations to identify and address local educational, cultural, and informational interests. The employee serves as a system-wide resource for adult services and participates in strategic planning, grant activities, and service development initiatives. Work is performed independently under the supervision of the Library Director and is evaluated through conferences, reports, program outcomes, collection performance, quality of services delivered, and patron feedback. Plans, develops, promotes, implements, and evaluates adult programs, classes, workshops, book clubs, and special events. Develops and maintains adult print, audiovisual, and digital collections through selection, acquisition recommendations, collection analysis, and weeding. 

Qualifications: Master's Degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution. Considerable experience in adult programming, collection development, outreach, reference services, community engagement, or related public library functions; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Possession of a valid North Carolina Driver's License may be required. North Carolina Public Librarian Certification or ability to obtain certification within the time period established by the State Library of North Carolina. 

Salary: $52,130 - $72,215
