DESCRIPTION
An employee in this class performs responsible professional work under the direct supervision of the Outreach and Extension Services Supervisor in support of the Library’s strategic plan; bringing to these tasks the training gained from a four-year college degree or the equivalent amount of library experience.
This position will be responsible for the completion of work schedules, supervision of branch staff and volunteers, planning and implementation of programs and outreach services for all ages, and maintaining statistics. This role will involve providing customer service at the public desk, to include informational services, reader's advisory, technology assistance, and circulation of materials. Other responsibilities include assistance with collection development in compliance with budget parameters, maintenance through inventory and weeding, analyzation of usage data to make community-centered decisions, participation in committees both inside and outside the library, and enforcement of operational policies and procedures. Rotating shifts and evening/weekend work will be required.
QUALIFICATIONS
A four (4) year degree or an equivalent combination of experience and training. North Carolina driver’s license acquired within 30 days of employment. Prospective employee is required to submit to and pass a background and drug test prior to employment.
SALARY
$35,400 / ANNUALLY
