Position Description: The Metadata and Cataloging Librarian provides leadership in cataloging, metadata creation, and record management to ensure accurate description and discovery of the library’s collections. This position establishes cataloging practices and priorities; oversees the creation, modification, and selection of records and metadata for print and digital materials.
The position supervises two staff members and plays a key role in the library’s record management, focusing on metadata migration, bibliographic record cleanup, and configuration of the knowledge base holdings in existing and future library integrated systems. The metadata and cataloging librarian is expected to contribute to various committees, collaborations, and other professional activities.
Qualifications: Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited program. Experience with cataloging and metadata standards (RDA, MARC, LC classification, LCSH). Familiarity with OCLC WMS workflows for cataloging, circulation, and resource management, including knowledge base configuration. Supervisory or workflow coordination experience.
Salary: $55,000 - $57,000
