DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this position is to serve the informational, reference and reading needs of library patrons of all ages at ACPL and will be expected to perform any and all routine tasks necessary to the operation of the library system. This position works under the supervision of the Community Engagement Librarian.
This position is a full-time, 40 hours per week, benefitted position. While most hours are Monday – Friday, frequent monthly weekend or evening hours are required. This position will be scheduled to work at other library branches throughout Alamance County on a regular basis.
The best candidate will possess a strong commitment to provide customer-focused service for a positive library experience and to relate tactfully and courteously with a wide range of diverse patrons and community members, plan, promote, and present programming for children ages 0 to 18 at partner/outreach locations or in partnership with branches, upon request.
QUALIFICATIONS
Master of Library and Information Science or Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of library experience working in a children’s programming role is required.
Three (3) years’ experience working with children and customer service is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with diverse populations in community-facing roles strongly preferred.
Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred.
Flexibility in scheduling is required.
SALARY
$51,919.02 / Annually
