DESCRIPTION

The Student Success Librarian is a one-year appointment dedicated to engaging students, faculty, and staff on the Charlotte campus as the library develops and expands shared services between the libraries in Charlotte and Burlington. The librarian plays a key role in supporting student success by delivering high-quality research assistance and developing information literacy instruction and building strong relationships with academic departments, student support services, and student organizations. This librarian will promote library services, programs and collections through campus partnerships, program development, workshops, and targeted support. The Student Success Librarian will remain current with developments and trends in teaching, research, and learning that impact students, such as AI tools, and proactively incorporate instructional material related to the use of emerging technologies in library research.

QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited program. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Applicants should have coursework, knowledge, or experience related to outreach and student success initiatives and a strong commitment to student-centered service, continuous learning, and equitable access to library expertise, support, and resources.

Preference will be given to candidates with one or more years of experience working in an academic library, including providing reference and instructional services. Experience using a learning management system (LMS) and collaborating with student services units.
