Position Description: The purpose of this position is to provide responsible technical and skilled work, installing, troubleshooting and testing microcomputer hardware and software, providing knowledgeable first line support of information systems for the Durham County Library system's seven branches.
Qualifications:
- High School Graduation or equivalent.
- Two years of technical support for IT hardware and software or related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Thorough knowledge of personal computer technology.
- Ability to install PCs, operating systems, and applications software.
- Ability to work independently or as a team member to identify requirements, find and evaluate alternatives, present solutions, make recommendations and follow projects through to completion.
- Ability to take initiative and use creative and innovative thinking to find solutions to computer or technical problems.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with users, peers and department officials.
Salary: $58,135 - $68,000
