Description: The J. Murrey Atkins Library at UNC Charlotte is seeking a University Archivist to manage the acquisition, preservation, access, arrangement, and description of the University’s records of enduring value deposited in J. Murrey Atkins Special Collections and University Archives. This position also guides records management practices across campus through training and outreach initiatives and by providing consultation to University offices. The University Archivist promotes the history of the University through events, exhibits, presentations, and other outreach activities and participates in reference and instruction services within the unit. 

Qualfications: An ALA-accredited MLS, MIS or equivalent degree and three years experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Other preferred qualifications include: experience or interest in supervising staff; experience with the appraisal and processing of archival records; knowledge of records management practices and procedures for digital and analog formats; experience providing reference services; understanding of the legal context concerning the management of public records; demonstrated leadership; ability to work collaboratively; strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects concurrently; excellent written and oral communication skills; ability build and sustain relationships with various stakeholders; experience with outreach activities.

Salary: $80,000 - $85,000
