Description: Sampson-Clinton Public Library is seeking a dependable, creative Youth Services Co-Coordinator to support daily library operations and provide engaging services for children and teens. This shared position requires close communication and collaboration with the other Co-Coordinator and Library Director to coordinate schedules, divide responsibilities, maintain consistent coverage, and ensure programs and services run smoothly. Regular duties include assisting patrons at the circulation desk, checking materials in and out, shelving, answering questions, maintaining organized collections, and supporting daily branch operations. The Co-Coordinators will also work together to plan and lead youth programs, activities, and community outreach. The position averages 19 hours per week, with Thursdays and Fridays as core workdays and Wednesdays typically scheduled at least twice monthly. Hours scheduled on Mondays and Tuesdays as needed. Some evening hours, special events, and approximately 12 Saturdays per year are required. Flexibility to work at any of the four library branches is expected.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with coursework in education, library science, or a related field, combined with experience working with children or teens, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Experience planning or leading youth programs is preferred. The ideal candidate is creative, energetic, organized, and passionate about inspiring young people. Strong computer and technology skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential. The position requires a collaborative, team-oriented approach and the ability to work closely with a co-coordinator to coordinate programs, schedules, and responsibilities. A positive attitude and willingness to learn are essential.
Salary: $21.02 per hour
